James Shinkle was coined The Occasional Comic, while living in Bozeman Montana playing around in the local theatre scene.  His acting has been inspired by all quintessential character actors who have come before him.  His ability to play and understand high stakes drama but also how play subtle comedy make him a positive addition to an ensemble cast.  He is an am active member of SAG-AFTRA and currently an EMC candidate for Actors Equity.

His improv training includes the Second City Conservatory, IO (formally improv Olympic) and Annoyance Theater.   He studied Mandolin at the Old Town School of Folk music and plays with a band called Wild Poinsettias.
